Apply for a Trip
Every mission is an adventure with challenges, surprises and occasional disappointments; but predominantly of inspiration and encouragement
We are always looking for new volunteers to join us on our international missions: please do get in touch.
Stages of the mission process
02
Phone our International Missions Manager on 01372 749955, or email international@throughtheroof.org for a chat about the trip
03
If you and they both decide to go ahead, you will be sent a link to an online application form
04
Please fill the form in, and return it to us
05
References will be taken
06
You may then be invited to join the trip, and asked to fill in a second form with more details. A non-returnable deposit of £250 will need to be paid once you’re accepted on the team – please don’t send any money until it’s requested.
07
Team members now need to book their own flights, and will need to ensure that they arrive in-country simultaneously
08
You will receive regular emails in preparation and meet for a team day: in person or over Zoom
09
You will go on the trip.
10
There will be an opportunity for an evaluation and feedback, after the trip.
Completing an application form
- A completed form is needed for each trip. We’ll need a new form even if you’ve completed one for a previous Wheels or International Roofbreaker trip.
- The form is now split into two parts and filled in online. Please contact kathy@throughtheroof.org for Wheels for the World trips, or international@throughtheroof.org for Roofbreaker International trips. We can support if you need any help filling the forms in.
- We prefer to speak to people initially before they complete the application forms, so they are not publicly available online.
Medical Information
Please consider your medical needs carefully, so we can best support you whilst on the mission trip. We will need any important medical information and may need you to consult your doctor to seek further advice as to if we can meet your needs on a trip.
Finance
We need a minimum number of people for each trip. Your deposit of £250 needs to be paid as soon as you’re accepted on to a trip in order to secure your space. Team members will need to book their own flights, and will need to ensure that they arrive in-country simultaneously.
Our volunteers are responsible for:
- Booking and paying for their own flights
- Paying a team fee that covers their in-country costs.
Through the Roof and our in-country partner organisations are responsible for:
- Finding a place for the team to stay.
- Organising local transport for the team.
- Identifying local contacts in the community to empower, enable and equip.
- Providing one day sightseeing in local area.
- Providing interpreters.
- Identifying event venues.
- Caring for all aspects of the team when they are in country.
